TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Reflecting on our intentions of this playgroup we established 20 years ago - we built this playgroup in the name of Christ for new Chinese immigrant families with young children, who had difficulties with English, to settle into a new country and community. Over time, with increased funding from the NZ government into early childhood learning and a higher demand of education standards from new immigrants - the need for our playgroup has also changed.
Covid first appeared 3 years ago and changed the norm of everyday lives, this also affected our playgroup and ceased any of our activities for over 12 months. As 80% of our coworkers are aged 70 and older, we have not resumed normal operations like other childhood facilities or schools for health and safety reasons.
Upon the expiration of our current certificate, we have decided as a whole not to renew, but we will continue to serve and support the community. However, we may shift the focus from children to elderlies in need of care.

回顾20年前亲子小组成立初心，是为主耶稣基督的名去帮助英文沟通有困难的华人移民照顾小孩并融入社会。时移世易，新移民教育水平大幅提高，政府照顾幼儿资源增多，新生率下降，亲子小组的社会需求也有减缓的迹象。
三年前，新冠病毒出现，严重影响社会运作，我们也停止活动超过1年，由于同工团队绝大部分成员均已年过七十，为安全起见，并不敢像其他亲子小组或学校般，恢复常态运作。同时，由于运营证书期满，经过全体成员慎重考虑，一致同意不再申请证书续期，但以基督的心为心去服务社会的目的不变，日后，我们将关心的对象转向更有需求的长者们。
